The RCPA Haematology QAP is located in the Institute of Clinical Pathology & Medical Research (ICPMR) building, Westmead Hospital, NSW, AUSTRALIA.
The Haematology QAP considers its role to be two fold. Firstly to provide sample and test material that gives participants the opportunity to assess their performance against other laboratories. Secondly, to provide educational material that will interest a variety of technical, scientific and medical staff.
There are currently 460 laboratories participating from Australia and approximately 300 overseas laboratories participating in the Haematology QAP surveys.
The RCPA Haematology QAP is accredited to ILAC Guide 13:2000: Guidelines for the Requirements for the Competence for Providers of Proficiency Testing Schemes, which incorporates ISO 9002 [/1]: 1994, ISO/IEC 17025: 1999 and ISO Guide 43-1: 1997.
